Trevor M. Barnard is the Group CEO at Kuvimba Mining House with a distinguished career marked by successful leadership in resource development and infrastructure projects, Trevor has consistently delivered results in challenging environments.
Before joining Kuvimba Mining House, Trevor served as the General Manager for Prospect Resources, where he led the implementation of a groundbreaking lithium mine and processing plant at the Arcadia Mine outside Harare, Zimbabwe. Under his guidance, the project achieved a significant milestone with the completion of a 2.4 million-ton-per-annum lithium mine and processing facility. His pivotal role in completing a Definitive Feasibility Study in 2021 resulted in the project's complete acquisition by Huayou Cobalt in April 2022. Recognizing Trevor's expertise, Huayou Cobalt requested him to continue with the project. By February 2023, under his leadership, the project was successfully implemented, commissioned, and operating at full capacity, poised to export over 400,000 tons of lithium concentrates annually.
Prior to his role at Prospect Resources, Trevor made substantial contributions to PPC Ltd. During his three-year tenure as Project Executive and two years as Managing Director of PPC Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), he played a vital role in strategic initiatives. As Managing Director in PPC DRC, Trevor was responsible for overall management, including Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources. His leadership involved effective communication and negotiation with stakeholders, overseeing a labor complement of 145 people. Reporting to the PPC DRC Board and MD International (PPC Ltd), Trevor demonstrated exceptional managerial skills and a profound understanding of the industry's complex dynamics.
Trevor's career also includes a notable tenure at Murray & Roberts, where he served as the Managing Director of ROCLA Southern Africa for four and a half years. In this capacity, he provided comprehensive leadership to Rocla Southern Africa, overseeing Operations, Sales and Marketing, Technical, Business Development, Human Resources, and Finance. His contributions were instrumental in Rocla's continued success and growth in Southern Africa.
Innocent Rukweza is the CFO of Kuvimba Mining House. An accomplished chartered accountant ,with over 15 years’ experience in senior leadership positions in the financial services sector, Innocent is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe and a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting Science from Oxford Brookes University (UK), a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with Honours in Accounting from Midlands States University (Zimbabwe), and a Master’s Degree in Business Leadership (MBL) from the University of South Africa.
With over a decade of practical exposure, Innocent has gained valuable experience in the fuel, tourism, and mining sectors in both Zimbabwe and South Africa. His extensive background underscores a rich set of executive and operational financial skills.
Patrick Maseva-Shayawabaya is the Managing Director of Freda Rebecca Gold Mine Limited who has a wealth of experience of 30 years in executive management within Zimbabwe and the SADC region. His extensive career includes notable positions such as Chief Finance Officer and Executive Director at various prominent companies. He has held these roles in Hippo Valley Estates Limited (Zimbabwe registered and listed), Zimplats Holdings Limited (Guernsey registered and ASX listed), Shanta Gold Limited (Tanzania operation and AIM listed), Teichmann Group (South Africa registered), and Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited (Zimbabwe registered and listed).
Eng Munashe Shava Eng Shava is the Head PGMs of Kuvimba Mining House with over twenty years experience of working in the Mining sector in Zimbabwe at strategic leadership level. He is a seasoned mining executive with vast greenfield and brownfield mining start-ups expertise. He possesses solid multi mineral commodity experience across regional and national geographical environments. Mr Shava is a member of; Mine Managers' Association of Zimbabwe, The Southern Africa Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Institute of Directors of Zimbabwe.
Eng. Munashe Shava is the CEO of Great Dyke Investments who boasts a rich background with over twenty years of experience in the Zimbabwean mining sector. His career has been marked by strategic leadership at a high level, demonstrating expertise in both greenfield and brownfield mining start-ups. Eng. Shava's proficiency extends to a solid understanding of multiple mineral commodities across various regional and national geographical environments.
As a seasoned mining executive, Mr. Shava is actively involved in professional organizations, including membership in the Mine Managers' Association of Zimbabwe, The Southern Africa Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and the Institute of Directors of Zimbabwe. Additionally, he serves as the board chair of ZCD, showcasing his commitment to industry governance and leadership.
Deric is the Head Bulk Commodities Cluster. He possesses a diverse professional background. With over 5 years of experience in financial services, he has focused on private equity and investment advisory sectors, particularly in emerging markets with a special emphasis on Southern Africa. Additionally, Deric brings over 10 years of expertise in mining, minerals, soft commodities, and refined petroleum products trading.
Deric is recognized as a structured trade, structured finance, and business development expert. His wealth of international transaction experience is evident through practical involvement in various aspects, including mineral production and consolidation, import-export operations, terminal handling and port processes, bulk and containerized cargo, ocean freight, cargo clearing, inland logistics, road and rail transport management, as well as transit cargo storage and transshipment.
